Assignment Outer Space is a science fiction movie directed by Antonio Margheriti starring Rik Van Nutter. The movie was part of a triple bill with the East German movie First space ship to Venus and the Japanese film The Mysterians. The story is about an interplanetary reporter named Ray Peterson who takes an assignment to the space. The mission is to destroy the terrestrial body in space which may any time hit the earth. The movie portrays how Ray Peterson accomplishes his mission and saves Earth. Rik Van Nutter plays the role of Ray Peterson.
